You will need a FWC saltwater fishing license (not included in cost) if you are diving offshore Jacksonville. Click here for more info. If you are diving offshore St. Pete, Charlie has coverage for this area and you will not need to purchase a license.
Details:
This is a private freediving/spearing course. You will have close time with the instructor to work on form, technique, safety, and skill for freediving and spearfishing. Charter cost is included.
4 people max per course.
Day 1 (Friday): Learning the fundamental physics and physiology of freediving, knowledge of equipment, equalization techniques, breathing exercises, safety, and technique. Pool training.
9 am - 2 pm or 4 pm - 9 pm.
Day 2 (Saturday): Taking a charter offshore. 60-80 ft depth training.
9 am - 5 pm
Day 3 (Sunday): Taking a charter offshore. Spearfishing charter or push to 100 ft depth training.
9 am - 5 pm. Wahoo are running offshore Jacksonville right now and it’s the perfect time to get in the water for some underwater hunting.
Equipment: Charlie does have equipment that he can rent out. Ideally, though, you will purchase your own equipment. It’s important that you have equipment that fits your body and face comfortably. If you’re looking for equipment to purchase, I’d recommend looking at Florida Freedivers.
